Layout Tutorial

Overview

  • Most lists in BOS Enterprise are grids: columns of fields and rows of records.
  • You can choose, arrange, sort, filter and group the columns, and save the layout for yourself or for all users.
  • If you do not save a layout, the default layout comes back the next time you open the screen.
  • For every option, see Layout.

💡These tutorials explain how to arrange a grid, search, filter and group it, save or restore the layout, work with two panels, change the window size and colours, and renew the licence.

  1. Click the Field Chooser (*) in the first column of the grid.

How to Group by a Column

  1. Right-click the column header and select one of these:
    • Group By This Field = Groups the records under the column's values.
    • Group By Box = Opens an area above the grid. Drag column headers into it to group by them.

How to Save or Restore a Layout

  1. Arrange the grid as you want it.
  2. Click Menu (button) > Layout & Grids and select one of these:

How to Work with Two Panels

  • Some screens open on the right and move the current screen to the left.
  • To resize the panels, drag the three vertical dots between them.
  • Use the icons at the top left:
    • Four coloured squares: Shows the menu buttons on the left; the right panel stays.
    • ▶ | and | ◀: Move the left panel to the right, or the right panel to the left. The panel it replaces closes.
