Timekeeping (Projects and Transactions)
Overview
You can record Travel and Work time against a project task or a transaction, or against a customer only (unlinked). For travel, you can also record your odometer readings to calculate the distance in kilometres. The records appear in BOS Enterprise straight away.
Timekeeping is useful if you:
- Pay contractors or consultants by the hour and want to track their time and costs.
- Charge customers by the hour or under service-level agreements, and need a record of travel time, distance and time on site.
List View
Info
The list shows either transactions or project tasks, depending on your Mobile App > Timekeeping Mode user setting.
- Transactions appear if they have an Active status and are assigned to you. A transaction assigned to several people appears on each of their lists until someone completes it.
- Tasks appear if you are the task's Resource and the task has a Ready status.

- Green: Equal to or less than the estimate.
- Orange: Up to 50% more than the estimate.
- Red: More than 50% over the estimate.

- Start Travel / Start Work: Starts a travel or work record. Only appears when you are not already recording time.
- View Detail: Shows the job's notes and attachments.
- Navigate: Opens your map app (for example, Google Maps) with directions from your location to the customer's address. Allow the app to use your location when asked.
- Add Image: Takes a photo and adds it to the transaction or project.
- Add Note: Adds a note to the transaction or project. The note does not appear on the timekeeping record.
- Complete: Sets the transaction to its default Complete status, which removes it from the list. Only appears when you are not recording time.
