HikVision Imports

Overview

Two imports bring HikVision data into BOS Enterprise:

  • Import Products creates or updates HikVision items from the HikVision master database.
  • Import Serial Numbers reads the serial numbers on a HikVision commercial invoice (CI) and creates the Purchase Order and Goods Received with the serial numbers.
  • Both are on the HikVision Menu (button) and need the HikVision settings (see HikVision Reference).
Navigation Example

Main Menu > HikVision > Menu (button) > Import Products or Import Serial Numbers

Import Products

How to Import Products

  1. Enter the product models or product IDs in the box on the left. Select all Products to Update fills in all the HikVision products you already have.
  2. Click Import.
  3. When it is done, the message "Import/Update Complete." appears. The grid lists the batch, and Items not found lists the entries that are not on the master database.
  4. Optionally, click Email to send the list of items not found to the HikVision email address.

What the Import Does

  • A product is matched on the master database when its model or ID appears in the text you entered.
  • A missing HikVision category is created.
  • A new item is created with a stock record (status Imported); an existing item, matched on its product ID, is updated (status Updated).
  • Both get the description, product ID, model, subcategory, specification and barcode, with the HikVision supplier and currency on the price.
  • An existing item keeps its category. No stock quantities or transactions are created.

  • The Purchase Order is for the HikVision supplier, with one line per product and the serial numbers on each line.
  • Each line has a quantity of 1: check the quantities before you complete the order.
  • Running an action again replaces the lines on the existing Purchase Order or Goods Received.
  • Every product on the invoice must be imported first: otherwise "One or more products on the selected Invoice are missing." appears.
  • The Goods Received needs the Purchase Order first: otherwise "The selected Invoice has not been imported to a Purchase Order yet." appears.
