Managing Close-Off Dates Tutorial
Overview
Closing off dates allows you to lock a financial period. No changes are allowed to transactions that are before the close-off date. This feature is essential for maintaining data integrity once a period has been finalised. Only authorised users can change the Close-Off Date. However, these users can change the date in any direction.
These tutorials explain how to set the Financial Close Off Date.
Navigation Example: Main Menu > Accounting > Transaction Close Off Dates.
How to Manage the Close-Off Date
ℹ️ You can unlock dates by selecting a prior date (e.g. if transactions are locked until 31 July 2025, you can select 30 June to unlock July transactions).
- The Accounting checkbox filters transactions to only show those that affect accounting. However, other transactions may impact inventory, which could result in a mismatch between the inventory on the Statement of Financial Position and the Inventory Reports generated by BOS Enterprise.
- Navigate to Transaction Close Off Dates.
- Select the Transaction Types you want to block. Use Ctrl + left click to select multiple transactions or Shift + left click to select a continuous block.
- Select a Date from the dropdown list.
- Click Update (button).
- Confirm the change on the pop-up.
- Click Save (button).
How to Remove a Close-Off Date

- Select the Date and press the Backspace key on your keyboard to clear it.
- Click Update (button).
- Confirm the change on the pop-up.
- Click Save (button).
