Inventory
Overview
You can check stock levels and prices, and update stock quantities, from your phone or any browser. It is useful for stock taking or for checking what is available.
Item Selection Screen
BOS Enterprise can generate QR codes for printing on labels, to stick on items or shelves. Scanning a label opens the item.
Buttons Explained
| Button | Description |

| Items (radio button) | Opens the camera to scan an item's QR code. A matching item opens straight away. |
| Batches (radio button) | Opens the camera to scan a batch or serial number's QR code. The item opens on its Batches tab. |
| Search | Lists the items that match the text you enter in the search box, with their codes and descriptions. Tap an item to open it. |
If a scanned code is not recognised, a message appears and the camera scans again. Allow the app to use your camera the first time you scan.
Items View
Opens when you tap or scan an item. The header shows the item's description, code, and category and subcategory. Tap Back to return to the item selection screen.
Prices Tab
- The selling price, excluding and including VAT, for each currency and unit set up on the item (Items > Item > Costing & Pricing (tab) in the desktop app).
- The item's Price List prices, below each Price List's name.
Inventory Tab Fields Explained

| Inventory (top bar) | The item's base unit. |
| Location | The Inventory Location. Tap it to sort the locations. |
| On Order | The quantity ordered but not yet received. |
| Reserved (below On Order) | The quantity reserved for orders. |
| In Stock | The quantity in stock at the location. |
| Available (below In Stock) | The quantity available (In Stock less Reserved). |
Update Stock
Tap a location (for example, Warehouse) and select Update Stock to enter the quantity you counted there. The option only appears if you have the appropriate access rights.
- Enter the counted quantity and tap Submit (button), or tap Cancel (button) to close without saving.
- For an item with batches at the location, the form lists each batch so you can update them together.
- A completed Stock Check is created in BOS Enterprise, dated yesterday.
- Only the selected location's quantity changes.
Batches Tab
Only appears for items with batch or serial numbers.
- Lists each batch or serial number at any location, with the date it was last counted and its expiry date (in red once past), and totals the quantities.
- Tap a batch and select Update Batch to update its quantity, then tap Submit (button). As with Update Stock, the stock check is dated yesterday.
