Gantt View

Overview

Production Planning assists organisations in managing all their production tasks.

The Gantt view displays the job in detail and includes a visual representation of the job sequence. This view is disabled if Task scheduling is disabled.

Buttons Explained

  • View: Generates a list of jobs based on the selected filters.
  • Menu:
    • Views: Switches to the different views:
      • Dashboard: A visual representation of all the Stages.
      • Jobs: A list of all the Jobs in the queue.
      • Tasks: This view displays all the Tasks in Planning in a grid view.
      • Materials: A list of all the Materials needed and their Availability.
      • Outwork: A list of all the outsourced jobs and their Statuses.
      • Board: This view is an ordered list of the production Stages - each Stage containing an ordered list of Tasks or Groups (Task Packages).
      • Gantt: A detailed list of every Stage or Job, listing all the tasks and times accompanied by a visual representation.
      • Timekeeping: A list of all the Timekeeping Records.
    • Settings
      • Edit Stages: Creates the stages that are displayed on the graph.

Filters Explained

  • Stage: A dropdown list of stages for selection.
  • Job: A dropdown list of Source documents (e.g. Work Orders) for selection.
  • Radio Buttons next to Timescale: Sets the visual representation to display time blocks. The options are:
    • Hours
    • Quarter Days
    • Days
  • New: If checked, only shows new jobs.
  • Complete: If checked, only shows completed jobs.

Field Explained

Status Bar

Appears if a Job is selected.

  • Status: Displays the current status of the job.
  • Note field: Displays the Status note.
  • Required Date: Displays the date and time by which the customer requires the job.
  • Start Date: Displays the date and time on which the job is scheduled to start.
  • Due Date: Displays the date and time Production expects to complete the job.

Header Information

Appears if a Job is selected.

  • Customer: The name of the customer.
  • Contact: The customer's contact person.
  • Reference: The job's reference which is on the source document.
  • From: The source document type and number if one was used to create the displayed document (e.g. Sales Order).
  • Assign to: The users the source transaction was assigned to.
  • Rep: The sales rep selected on the transaction.
  • Date: The transaction's date.
  • Entity: The entity that was selected on the source transaction.

Fields

  • Field Chooser (*): Allows fields to be added or hidden.
  • Description: The description of the tasks.
  • Dates: The duration of each task indicated by a coloured block based on the selected Time Scale.

About the Visual Representation (Time Scale)

  • Hourly: Displays the planning for the next week in hourly intervals.
  • Quarter Days: Displays the planning in blocks of 6-hour intervals.
  • Days: Displays the planning per day.
