Enhancements

Layout: A new skin, Light - Bezier, was added to the Layout menu and is now the default for new users. Existing users keep their current skin. To switch, select Menu (button, bottom right) > Layout > Light - Bezier.

Menu > Layout now shows a check mark next to the skin you are using:

  • Light - Bezier
  • Light - Regular
  • Light - Compact
  • Dark - Regular
  • Dark - Compact

When you select a different skin, you are asked to restart. If you select Cancel, your current skin stays selected.

SM > Projects > Project (tab): The Levels dropdown was replaced by three checkboxes: Milestones, Groups and Tasks.

  • Check one or two levels to filter the task list. Leave all three unchecked to show all levels.
  • Milestones and Tasks cannot both be checked: checking one unchecks the other.

On the same tab, the Milestone filter was renamed Show and the Show Hrs checkbox was renamed Hrs.

SM > Projects > Schedule: The scheduling fields (Start, End, Level and the Schedule button) are now hidden until you need them. To show them, select Actions > Schedule. To hide them again, click the X (Close) icon.

General: Screens and reports open faster.

Email Enhancements

WYSIWYG HTML Editor

You can now edit HTML emails, Email Templates and Email Stationery the way they will look to the recipient, instead of editing raw HTML.

To switch it on, go to Settings > General > Email and check Use WYSIWYG HTML Editor. The setting applies to the whole company and is off by default.

When the setting is switched on:

  • HTML editor: The editor for Email Templates, global, user and entity Email Stationery, and Actions > Edit HTML on an email opens on a new Editor tab. The Code tab still shows the HTML. The Preview tab is no longer needed and is hidden (see Fields Explained under Output Options for Reports and Fields Explained under Output Options for Transactions in Output; Output Tab Explained in Custom Reports; User Email Stationery and Company (Generic) Email Stationery in Email Stationery). The Editor toolbar has:
    • Font, size and text colour
    • Bold, italic, underline and strikeout
    • Alignment and indent
    • Bullets and numbering
    • Hyperlinks
    • Undo and redo
  • Merge fields: Click a merge field (such as [CUSTOMERNAME]) to insert it into the Editor tab at the cursor.
  • Email form: The Content type field was removed and Subject has its own full-width row. You edit the message directly on one Editor page:
    • A new email opens with your stationery, ready to type into.
    • Existing plain-text and stationery emails are shown as they will be sent. They are saved as HTML only if you change them; emails you only open and close are not changed.
    • Sent Items are shown exactly as sent and are read-only.
  • Images: Images keep their original web address, so logos and pictures still show for the recipient. Logos sized with styles keep their size unless you resize them in the editor.
  • Attachment links: Links added with Actions > Link Attachments are shown as [[Links Start]] and [[Links End]] markers and work as before.
  • User stationery: If you clear all the content of your user stationery, new emails now use the entity or global stationery instead.

Things to Know

  • There are no table tools on the toolbar. Existing tables are kept and you can edit their text. To change a table's layout, use the Code tab.
  • You cannot insert an image by its web address from the toolbar, but you can paste a picture.
  • When the setting is switched on, emails are always sent as HTML (no plain-text emails).
  • If an email or template contains HTML that the editor cannot display, the editor tells you and stays read-only, so the content cannot be damaged. Use the Code tab instead.
  • Emails with web images that cannot be reached may take a few seconds to open.

HTML Editor Changes for Everyone

These changes apply whether the WYSIWYG editor is switched on or off:

  • A Format button was added to the Code tab:
    • Format by line: Lays out the HTML neatly, one block per line with indenting. It only changes spacing that does not show in the email. Press Ctrl + Z to undo it.
    • Wrap on width: Wraps long lines to the window width, on screen only.
  • Insert Template moved to a Template button next to Format.
  • The HTML tag list on the left was removed. The left column now shows only the merge fields and is hidden when there are none, which gives the editor more room.
  • Email Stationery can now control where the message goes: on the Code tab, add <!--Message--> where the email text should be placed. Without it, the message is placed as before.

Fixes

Fixed: Email – Emailing could hang when a template contained a [ without a closing ] (e.g. Price [approx).

Fixed: Email – When you composed an email with stationery that has no paragraph, the message was inserted at the very start of the HTML. It is now placed correctly.

Fixed: Transactions > Copy – Copying a transaction cleared its Incoterm details and Port of Loading and Port of Discharge. They are now kept on the copy.

Fixed: Customer Ageing – Next and Previous gave the wrong period (e.g. This Month + Next showed two months, and This Year + Next showed 13 months).

Fixed: Customer Ageing – Create/Update SM created a new Service Manager ticket on every click while the customer's ticket was still New or Pending. It now opens the existing ticket (see Fields Explained in Customer Age Analysis and How to Follow Up on Accounts in Customer Age Analysis Tutorial).

Fixed: Customers – An error could appear when the Customers screen was opened again with no entities set up.

Fixed: Customers – The Detail, Accounts and Transactions tabs on the Customer Summary could briefly appear with no customer loaded.

Fixed: Customers – After you deleted a customer and selected Cancel, scrolling through customers was slower.

Fixed: Customers – Format address added an extra blank line to the end of postal and street addresses.

Fixed: Reports – On reports with an Item Category or Item filter, selecting All showed only one category or item instead of all of them.

Fixed: SM > Projects – Recalculating hours on the project schedule could clear the hours of a group or milestone that has no tasks under it. Its own hours are now kept.

Fixed: General – About 30 spelling and grammar mistakes in screen captions, hints and messages were corrected (e.g. "Calendar", "Accessory", "Override" and "Dependency").

Fixed: General – Database errors on several less-used screens.
